As it is Christmas Eve, I thought I’d lighten the mood with some holiday joy. Hopefully, we all have holiday memories that bring us joy. For me, there are a few specific Christmases that really stick out in my mind. There are plenty of memories that bring me joy and happiness.
The holidays fill many people with joy. However, many people also experience great sadness during the holidays. Many of us experience depression from missing departed loved ones. When we are dealing with holiday loneliness, sometimes it feels like we will never be happy again.
I’ve had several people that I have considered my best friends at different times in my life. A lot of things can happen that cause changes in these relationships., and we should cherish our friendships for what they bring into our lives.
We all have different reasons for spending time with friends instead of family over the holidays. Distance or estrangement or even lack of a family altogether can push us to create a chosen family.
One of the most basic and primal desires in our relationships is physical contact. Almost immediately, everyone thinks of sexual intimacy. But the physical intimacy that I am talking about is less than that, and yet much deeper than sex all at the same time.
